Tips & Tricks:
• Set aside at least 60 minutes to run through this exercise. Put in the mental effort. It’s worth it!
• Get rid of all distractions (Listen to white noise and isolate yourself for the duration of the exercise).
• It takes time to develop endurance, so just keep bringing your mind back if you get side tracked.
• Accept the information with a child-like faith, and take some risks. Mistakes are our best teachers.
• Ask a brother or sister (In Christ) if you are totally confused about what God has just shown you
• Enjoy the process and have fun listening to the Creator of everything, speak to YOU. Yes, YOU!
• Use your 10 fingers to do this on the run (Memorise each category on your 10 fingers)

The Spirit of - The Fear of the Lord:
He is greatly feared and revered in all the heavens. Nothing can compete or contend with Him.
You will fall on your face when He shows up in His full glory - you don't have a choice.
He protects His children - His enemies run away in fear. He helps us avoid sin and traps.

Jesus:

The Holy Spirit:

This exercise will help you test to see if: You are hearing God's voice, or if you are hearing your own thoughts.
BUT before you start:
1) Do NOT rush. Set a timer on your phone for at least 60 minutes, to complete this exercise.
2) Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you:
"Holy Spirit, I'm about to test whether I heard your voice or not, so I ask you to cleanse and protect me with the blood of Jesus. Please help me be 100% honest with myself and You. In Jesus name... Let's Go!"

Important: You must remember that if you are new at this, you need to start being less judgmental towards your flow of thoughts - when listening for God. You're going to see some odd things, because Jesus loves to speak in symbols, that you will need to interpret. So don't be too hard on yourself for not understanding immediately. When doing a maths sum in your head, sometimes the answer appears instantly, BUT sometimes you need to play around with some options to get momentum. Giving Jesus something to work with in your imagination is not a bad thing. So don't stare at a blank canvas. Rather, start painting some scenarios in your imagination for Jesus to work with. You're not making it up, you're just making sure you keep the conversation flowing. You have to have a child like faith for this to work.

Is there a secret underlying motive that I have, that I'm hoping God confirms, which is clouding my judgment of discerning this properly?
Example: I want to be rich, so I think God is telling me to go gamble at a casino (Check your motive)
Write down your secret motive, and shine a big spotlight on it!
After you've written it down, ask God to give you a new fresh pure motive: "Father, I'm sorry for having such a twisted hidden motive, please cleanse me and help me see this from a Godly angle, and NOT a selfish perspective!"

Does it line up with the fruits of the spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control?

Remember:
This exercise helps you in the beginning of your journey, but you won't need it later on, because you'll have enough practice under your belt. But you have to practice to get better. So keep putting in the effort, and you'll soon be able to discern God's voice in a split second :)
